A victim was shot in the leg last night in the 1700 block of Benning Road NE. A text alert went out about the event at 11 pm. The alert did not provide look out information. Early this morning an MPD representative sent the following email to the 5D listserve:
On Thursday, May 25, 2017 at approximately 10:45 PM Fifth District Officers responded to the 1705 Benning rd., NE in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and located a victim. The victim was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. The injury appeared to be Non-life-threatening.
